The UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program is a fully-funded opportunity for international students interested in studying biology and related sciences in Japan. Hosted by the Amgen Foundation and the University of Tokyo, the program provides undergraduate students with an eight-week research experience in the field of biomedical science. The program aims to:
- Support students from different countries who want to pursue careers in biology
- Give students interested in graduate studies the chance to network with top faculty and gain research experience from dedicated professors and researchers
Eligibility for the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program includes:
- Being an undergraduate enrolled in a university or college that grants bachelor’s degrees
- Having completed the first year of undergraduate studies before the summer program begins
- Not graduating before the summer program begins
- An excellent educational record
- Interest in obtaining a research degree (such as a PhD) in the future
- English language proficiency (if English is not the applicant’s first language, proof of proficiency must be submitted)
