The Summer Undergraduate Research (SUR) Programme by the School of Biology at the University of Lausanne offers a life-changing 8-week experience for Bachelor students worldwide. Participants engage in individual research projects, fostering a lasting impact on their academic journeys.
🌍 Who is the SUR Programme for? 🌍
Geared towards biology, medicine, or related discipline students, the SUR Programme targets those entering their third year of the bachelor’s degree. Prior research experience isn’t mandatory, and applicants from diverse biological sciences backgrounds are welcome.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The participants can be both national and international students.
- The participants must be undergraduate students in life sciences.
- The students must have proof of their university-attended courses.
- The participants must be proficient in English as the summer camp is in the English language.

🏠 Benefits
- Accommodation: Program coordinator arranges and covers housing expenses in Lausanne, providing single or double rooms in furnished apartments.
- Scholarships: A CHF 1,500 scholarship is provided for living expenses. Limited funds are available for travel costs.
- Travel: Reimbursement up to CHF 500 for European travel and CHF 1,200 for overseas travel is available. Original receipts are required.
- Visas: Assistance is provided for visa applications. Visa fees are not covered by the scholarship.
- Health Coverage: Participants must have health and accident coverage from their home country.
