I agree with you on technology aspect, but I think the 90's had a certain sense of simplicity and innocence that we don't have now.

It's hard to compare the two time periods, but the present has a lot more opportunities and resources available to us. The internet has opened up so many doors and made it easier to access information and connect with people all over the world which is a huge advantage.
