Important Guidelines
- Applicants must be Ethiopian nationals
- All documents must be:
- Typed and printed on A4 vertical paper
- Include original stamps/signatures where required
- Submitted as non-returnable copies
- Photographs must be glued, not stapled
- Original recommendation letters, stamped transcripts, and degree certificates required
- Stay updated via the Embassy Website; individual notifications will not be sent
Selection Process Timeline
- Document Screening
Complete applications reviewed until May 30, 2025 - Written Examination – Tentatively in June 2025
Conducted at the Embassy of Japan in Addis Ababa - Interview – Tentatively in July 2025
Held in-person, following the written exam - Primary Screening Results – Late July 2025
Successful applicants receive a certificate for university applications - Secondary Screening – Conducted by MEXT in Japan
Based on submitted application documents; no in-person evaluation
