Geography and Environmental Studies

Program Details

The BA in Geography and Environmental Studies educates students about the spatial patterns of human interactions with their natural and built environments. Geography includes regional studies, and many students become experts in Latin America, Asia, Africa, or other geographical regions. Geographers work on real-world issues like as the causes and consequences of climate change, racial and ethnic segregation in cities, conflicts over borders and territories, industrial location, and agriculture production and food distribution. Conduct research or investigations with the purpose of discovering, reducing, or eliminating sources of pollution or hazards that have an impact on the environment or public health.

  3. Assist governmental agencies, environmental programs, industry, or the general public with scientific or technical advice, support, coordination, or oversight.
  4. Review and implement all applicable environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations.
  5. Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data such as pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring data, meteorological or mineralogical information, or soil or water samples.
